As a soccer player at Toll Gate High School, Gianna personified the type of dedication, positive attitude, and respect for others that constitute good sportsmanship. On Saturday, February 15th, the RI Girls Soccer Officials (RIGSO) once again honored her memory and that of Maddie Potts at their 2024 post-season sponsorship banquet.

RIGSO president Al Ricci announced the three winners of this year’s sportsmanship awards. Congratulations to Classical High School Girls Soccer (pictured) for winning the Jack Breetveld Sportsmanship Award, to Moses Brown School Girls Soccer (not pictured) for receiving the Gianna Cirella Sportsmanship Award, and to Lincoln High School Girls Soccer (not pictured) for being selected for the Maddie Potts Sportsmanship Award.

We are grateful that Gianna continues to be remembered for her commitment to soccer as well as for her legacy of good sportsmanship.
