Dr. Philip Chan from the Rhode Island Department of Health talks about sepsis, a life-threatening condition that can follow an injury or infection. Accompanying him is Tara Cirella, who tragically lost her daughter, Gianna, to sepsis a few years ago. Also joining the podcast is Dr. Lee Polikoff, a pediatric, critical care specialist at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. He was one of the physicians who in charge of Gianna’s care and is an expert on sepsis.
The Public Health Out Loud podcast is aimed at the general public to give raise awareness of this issue.
