When Gianna became ill, the Cirella family suddenly found themselves needing to be at her bedside in Hasbro Children's Hospital at all hours. Staff told them about the Ronald McDonald House, only a 2 minute walk up the street. The House became a place of refuge, relief, and comfort for the extended family, including some from out of state, when they needed it most.
We at the GCMF realize how important it is for families dealing with similar situations and hardships to have the same comforts available to them. That's why each year we donate $10,000.00 to the Ronald McDonald House of Providence to sponsor a room in Gianna's name. Recently, Tara and GCMF board member Tonya Buffi met with Ellen Simmons at the RMH of Providence to deliver a check, along with a small basket of household goods and necessities for families that may stay there.
