On September 29th, Bella Vita in Warwick celebrated its 4th year anniversary by dedicating a special tea and shake to Gianna, along with a raffle which ran all week. The owner, Merinda Lima, is a very special person to us. We are beyond thankful she has once again celebrated her own success by supporting ours. Bella Vita raised just over $1000 for The Gianna Cirella Memorial Fund. We thank all those who stopped in to support her business, buy raffle tickets and try all her delicious creations.
On October 3rd, two very special people in our world dedicated a fundraising event at URI for the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. Alexandra Buffi, who played soccer with Gianna and attends URI worked with Nate Thiboutot who is a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and who became ill and ultimately was hospitalized with sepsis last year. They decided that they would raise funds for the Gianna Cirella Memorial Fund by charging $1 for students to "pie" a member of the fraternity. This event raised just over $600 and brought even more sepsis awareness to the URI campus. We are so very thankful Nate's mom reached out to us when he became ill. We provided her with tools and knowledge to ask the right questions and thankfully Nate is healthy and with us today.
